How to Add Friends in Pokémon GO (and Find Your Friend Code)

Adding friends is one of the fastest ways to earn XP, collect items, and trade Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Here's how to find your friend code and start adding trainers.

How to find your Pokémon GO friend code

Open Pokémon GO and tap your trainer avatar in the bottom-left corner.
Select the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
Your unique 12-digit friend code appears at the top. Tap it to copy it to your clipboard.

How to add a friend

From the Friends tab, tap Add Friend.
Enter the other trainer's 12-digit friend code.
Tap Send Friend Request. Once they accept, they'll appear in your friends list.
